Quick News: The Insider Guide to PDA!

Hi everyone!

I’m thrilled to share that The Insider’s Guide to PDA by Sally Cat and Brook Madera is now available, and I was honored when they asked me to write its foreword! I have learned so much from Brook, Sally Cat, and the PDA community in general, so writing the foreword was one way I could express my gratitude to them.

Here is an excerpt for you:

The PDA voice, when safe to express itself, is unique, nuanced, down to earth, intelligent, sensitive, practical, and real. If we let it, it guides us into what often becomes best practice for all. I am thrilled that Brook and Sally Cat have come together as authors in this book, so that we all can benefit from their knowledge, practical advice, deep understanding, experience, and compassion.

If you are new to PDA, this guide will offer you a thorough understanding of PDA – the challenges across the lifespan, how to tease out what is PDA versus what is not, what you can do that will be immediately helpful, and more.

And, if you are already familiar with PDA, this guide will undoubtedly expand your knowledge by exploring the nooks and crannies of topics and questions you didn’t yet know you had and serve as a handy guide to refer to by topic on an as-needed basis.

And, for those seeking data and concrete evidence, be assured that the findings from Sally Cat's 2016 Big Traits study are discussed throughout this book. Her full findings can be found at this link, and can help us all build evidence based practice around, and acceptance of, PDA.

…And just for fun, I thought I’d share the cartoon Sally Cat sketched of me. What do you think?

You can purchase their book on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles, and access many free PDA related resources here. Have a great week!
