Introduction to Declarative Lanuage

Are you looking for strategies to help your child better communicate and connect? It starts with how we talk. The words we choose can make a big difference. In this session, you’ll learn a simple approach called declarative language—a way of speaking that encourages kids to pause, think, and share ideas. This style helps build skills like flexible thinking, problem-solving, and perspective-taking, all through everyday conversations. You’ll walk away with an understanding of what declarative language is, why it is so powerful in supporting social learning, and hear some beginning examples.
