Schedule a 4-Week Declarative Language & Co-Regulation Training for Your Educators!

Presented by Linda K. Murphy MS, CCC-SLP and Lizz Ramirez, RDI Consultant

What you need to know starting out…

During this training, participants sign on for four classes to learn about declarative language and co-regulation. Both are powerful partners in guiding social learning. An overview of each concept will be presented on weeks 1 and 3 and participants will be given a homework assignment to explore and practice concepts in their unique educational environments. On weeks 2 and 4, we will lead discussions based on participant examples, reflections, questions and case studies.

Other Details…

  • All sessions will be recorded and available to participants at a private link for a month after completion of the workshop.

  • Our workshop will be limited to 15 people, to provide ample opportunity and time for individualized learning and discussion.

The following are our weekly topics. These may be modified slightly based on what is most relevant for the group:

Week 1: Introduction to The Power of Declarative Language – A Thoughtful Language Style to Help Kids with Social Learning Differences Feel Competent, Connected, and Understood

Week 2: Homework Review, discussion and Q&A

Week 3: An Introduction to Co-Regulation and A Guiding Mindset - What is it and how can I apply these concepts in my learning environment?

Week 4: Homework Review, discussion and Q&A

What you need to do…

Participants are encouraged to complete a baseline assignment prior to starting the workshop (formal instructions to be provided). This may be a video, audio clip or written anecdote, along with our self-reflection form, and complete homework assignments as discussed after sessions 1 and 3. Homework assignments consist of active practice with a student around a concept and can be captured through video clips, audio clips, or written anecdotes.

Participants’ homework will be used in class for reflection, trouble shooting, shared celebration of progress, observation of growth, and overall group learning. Using personal examples in this way is powerful as it paves the way for individual meaning and application of the concepts covered and allow Linda and Lizz to provide individual guidance around the dynamics of interactions with your students. All participants benefit from shared assignments.

Participants may also wish to purchase Declarative Language Handbook and Co-Regulation Handbook, available on Amazon, to supplement their learning.

Each individual class lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on review of homework assignments, questions and group discussion.

If your school/organization is interested in its own specific targeted workshop, please contact us directly and we can arrange dates and times that work for you.

Thank you for your interest!
